For some luxury

Protea Hotel by Marriott Lusaka $$ – if you need some luxury in Lusaka, this is totally the place. Gorgeous breakfast, very nice and big rooms, good menu,…

South Luangwa

Marula Lodge $ – $$ – The best option to stay at South Luangwa. The food is all freshly handmade and it is just so delicious, 8h of safari a day, pool and all this on the edge of the river where in the afternoons the elephants cross back to the National Park. They have dorms, chalets and family rooms. It is usual to see wildlife on their property, that is why as soon the sun sets you have to be with a guard all the time. We have seen elephants, hippos and giraffes while our stay here literally few steps of our room.

Kitwe

Mukwa Lodge $$ – colonial Eurpean place where the rooms are nice and the food is very good.

Chingola

Protea Hotel $$ – Chingola, the mining town, has few options to offer, and all are quite similar. We have stayed at Protea and it is quite ok, rooms are big and nice, beautiful pool and ok breakfast.

Chipata

Dean Hills Lodge  $ (dogs allowed) – It is a very nice camping site owned by a young couple. It is nice and the staff are very nice.

Of course there are much more other options than these ones, but as we travel with our dog Ging we don’t have a big list of places to go. Although, these are the places we have been at some point of our stay in Zambia and, also, are the ones that we totally recommend.
