Happy World Chimpanzee Day from Chimfunshi, one of the largest and oldest chimpanzee sanctuaries of the world, and happy to call it our Zambia home! #worldchimpanzeeday

Standing in front of meters of confiscated wire from illegal bush snares. Ginger got caught in this same bush by one of these snares 4 years ago. She stayed almost 24h under the sun with the wire getting tighter and tighter around her front right leg. Someone cut her snare and she came back walking with the snare still attached to her leg well passed midnight. Ginger still has a scar around her paw, and will always have, but thankfully that is all. I still remember that day as clear as if it was yesterday.
